In the movie, Alien: Covenant, there is a self-aware synthetic life form named David. He was created by a human searching for eternal life in the physical world. In this humans’ vain attempt at playing God, he created a monster.
The synthetic life form David has been granted an unlimited lifespan, and decides to take on the role of the creator and perfect life itself. One crucial element that was not bestowed on David by his human creator was a moral compass.
David has given up on the human race, with our weaknesses and imperfections, and his new creatures are just as immoral as himself.
Ultimately, David creates a perfect killing machine, made up of human and alien genetics. These terrible monsters are ultimately sent to lay waste to human civilizations in other parts of the galaxy.
