UMCDC Foundery Society

The UMC Foundery

In 1739, John Wesley and his family established their first London chapel in an abandoned arms foundery (traditional spelling) to minister to recent converts of the new Methodist movement. John Wesley’s first steps in this old Foundery building created a lasting legacy for the world.

The Foundery was recently established as a society for those that have made the commitment to leave a portion of their estate to national or worldwide ministries of the United Methodist Church. There are currently over 200 members of The Foundery that have comitted more than $20 million to national and worldwide ministries of the United Methodist Church through their Will document or other estate plans.

As you make plans to provide for your local church and loved ones, I hope that you will also consider making an estate gift to one of the national and worldwide ministries of the United Methodist Church. If you have already included a national or worldwide ministry of the United Methodist Church in your estate plan, please let us know. We do not require any documentation, just the knowledge of your generosity.

Please call or email if you have any questions about your estate plan, or adding a ministry to your existing plan. We offer a free guidebook and would be happy to mail it to you at no charge.
